45 Degrees/Minneapolis is a brand consultancy and design shop – the creative partnership of Susan Hopp and Karl Schweikart. We design brand identities, help organizations find their way, and collaborate on one-off, interesting projects.
As you will see in our Work: Logos & Symbols, our sweet spot is brand identity, and we’ve worked with 100s of businesses and organizations. We love helping them shine. Often an “aha” moment for many who think they just want a “logo,” our design process allows our clients to imagine their ideal state and to rethink and refine their brand. It’s transforming to discover where their power and magic lies.
With so much visual noise vying for attention, we value clear content and compelling design in equal measures. Even though we don’t shout out socially responsibility, we seek out people who care that we use our talents and skills to make the world a better place and have positive impact. We simplify the complex to create order, design to get noticed and raise awareness, inspire credibility, find connections and move others to action, creating positive change. This satisfies both the artist and businessperson in us.

Karl has combined his interests in art and music. As a founding member of the local band The Melvilles, he’s enjoyed the freedom of out-of-the box thinking over the years as he has designed 100’s of the band’s concert posters.

Susan’s love of creating beauty out of nothing developed into a side seasonal floral business. An accidental gardener, her design sense found a perfect outlet in her floral arrangements.
